Color

Bright lemon yellow with greenish reflections. The perlage is very fine, lively, and even—vital and active in the glass.

Nose

An intense, yellow-fruity bouquet characterizes the nose. Ripe yellow and red apples dominate—perceptible with skin, core, and juice. Added to this are notes of khaki, apricot, and ripe mirabelle plum. Spicy hints lead orientally toward turmeric and saffron, accompanied by a subtle Mediterranean note of dried herbs. Roasted walnuts and freshly chopped almonds add subtle nutty accents.

Palate

On the palate, the wine impresses with its present, appealing phenolics, giving it a healthy, vital mouthfeel. The acidity is moderate, yet provides a pleasant contrast. The fruit remains present but fades into the background in favor of the complex spicy aromas—somewhere between the Orient and the Mediterranean. Here, too, the nutty elements linger subtly. This is an exciting and balanced sparkling wine, stylistically less radical than many of its regional counterparts.
