Product description for Tement Sekt Brut Nature, Grosse Reserve, Morillon Blanc de Blancs NV The Brut Nature NV14 sparkling wine is Tement’s answer to the bottle-fermented winemakers of the world. This sparkling wine, made from 85% Morillon and 15% Weissburgunder, was aged for 50 months in neutral barrels after spontaneous fermentation and then for a further 30 months in the bottle. The vines for this sparkling wine grew in Ehrenhausen on blue and brown limestone marl soils; the vines are between 20 and 55 years old. The sparkling wine was dosed Brut Nature and, with only 0.7 grams of residual sugar, is extremely dry and bottled without added sulfur. Disgorged in April 2022.

Colour

Light straw yellow with bright reflections and persistent perlage.

Nose

Tement’s Grosse Reserve smells of lime zest, Granny Smith peel, and lemon balm. As time passes in the glass, notes of apricot kernels and salted-buttered toast with a spoonful of greengage jam emerge. Reduced and sinewy, this sparkling wine draws the lips to the glass with anticipation.

Palate

On the palate, the curtain rises and offers a glimpse into the expansive arena. Styria has not necessarily distinguished itself as the home of great sparkling wines, but this extremely precise drink should soon change that. Crystal-clear with reduced fruit and a saline backbone, it is taut and sinewy on the first sip, with good punch and low drinking resistance. Despite the long lees aging, it remains focused, precise, and vibrant like a laser sword. An absolute stunner that puts Styria on the map as a source of quality sparkling wine.
