Information about the site

The “Le(h)ne” (slope) of the Pfingstbach stream gives this site its name. Its vineyards gently slope southwestward into the stream valley. Fertile clay loess is interspersed with iron-rich red quartzite veins. “Eiserberg” was therefore an old name for the Lenchen area, referring to this geological feature. The early morning mists of the Pfingstbach stream promote the spread of Botrytis cinerea – ideal conditions for the production of noble sweet wines.
