Product description for Manincor La Rose de Manincor IGT 2023 (bio)
Info
2023 presented the Manincor team with numerous challenges. A very wet spring was followed by a hot and dry summer. The autumn was described as golden, ensuring perfect ripeness. A lot of work was required in the vineyard throughout the year. 35% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, 14% Pinot Noir, 6% Tempranillo, 6% Syrah, 5% Lagrein, and 4% Petit Verdot are very precisely specified. The vines are distributed among the best red wine vineyards in Manincor, at Seehof, Panholzerhof, and Mazzon. All vineyards are very close to the winery and vary in altitude from 250 to 500 m above sea level. The red grape varieties were harvested from mid-September to mid-October, with an average yield of 53 hl per hectare. La Rosé de Manincor is a culmination of the juice from all these vineyards and grape varieties. Depending on the variety, the maceration takes place in the tank for six to twelve hours with the tap open, allowing the must to drain away under its own weight. The must is partially fermented spontaneously in wooden barrels. The wine matures on the fine lees in the used barrels for five months before bottling.
Colour
Bright salmon pink with light and distinct orange inclusions
Nose
The nose of La Rosé de Manincor is characterized primarily by ethereal freshness and little by way of fruit. Mint, eucalyptus, and lemon balm set the tone. The finest white floral scents waft around, adding elegant accents. Its fruit is rather light and subtle, with top-quality white currants and raspberries. Grapefruit provides tart freshness, while lemon zest adds energy. It displays a delicate spice based on white pepper and coriander seeds. All the attributes of a successful rosé for the warmer seasons are present here.
Palate
This interplay continues seamlessly on the palate. Full of elegance and lightness, it builds on the palate. Its fruit seems soaked in a hint of yogurt – wonderful. It flows coolly over the lips. The herbal aromas also contribute to this refreshing effect. The fruit is fragmented and tart, making it very drinkable. In the manner of the best Provençal rosés, it also thrives on subtle bitterness that stimulates the appetite and leaves you wanting more.
