Description
Founded in 1928 by Victor Huet and his son Gaston in Vouvray, the Huet estate is one of the most important vineyards on the Loire, indeed in the whole of France. The property’s 35 hectares are divided into three monopoly vineyard sites. Le Haut-Lieu is the original vineyard of the estate. Gaston Huet bought Le Mont in 1957. Acquired in 1953, Clos du Bourg dates back to the 8th century and its six hectares are surrounded by an ancient stone wall. Gaston Huet considered it the most important vineyard in Vouvray, and its wines are certainly the most powerful and vibrant. Since 2003, the estate has belonged to the Hwang family. Noël Pinguet, Gaston Huet’s son-in-law, sold the property at that time, but led it to worldwide fame until his retirement in 2012. Today, Sarah Hwang, field manager Jean-Bernard Berthomé, and oenologist Benjamin Joliveau run the Biodyvin winery.
