Product description for Gramona Enoteca, Brut Nature 2006
Celler Batlle is just a taste of what long aging times can do to Gramona’s wine. Enoteca is made from the same wine as its little sister from the Finca Font Jui and is aged in the bottle for 160 months only in select vintages. To showcase the full potential of the aging of the star grape varieties Xarel·lo (60%) and Macabeo (40%), it is produced as a Brut and a Brut Nature in the years in which it is released. Smallest edition, greatest wine. Goes well with anything good food!
Colour
Straw yellow with very fine mousse
Nose
An explosion of aromas, complex and elegant, the Gramona Enoteca is characterized by ripe and baked fruits such as apple and fig; earthy nuances and aromas of wild mushrooms; it also shows hints of cocoa and roasted Brazil nuts.
Palate
On the palate, it presents its full power. Nuances of baked apples and cinnamon dominate. Its full body flatters the palate and unfolds an exceptional balance between freshness and ripeness. The lingering aromas are accompanied by a melting finish that inspires prolonged philosophical reflection.

Score: 96+
The terrific 2006 Enoteca Brut Nature comes from a superb vintage that was very warm. It was produced with 60% Xarel.lo and 40% Macabeo from their Font Jui property (mentioned on the label) with 12% alcohol, a pH of 2.97 and no residual sugar, sharp and dry. It matured in bottle with lees for 180 months, and such a long time in bottle gives tiny bubbles that give the wine a velvety texture. It’s very expressive, clean, complex and nuanced, with faint nutty notes, hints of yeasts and bread dough, balsamic and with Mediterranean notes of fennel and esparto grass. It’s long, dry, tasty and finishes with some chalkiness. They also do this in Brut style on demand. A tad above the 2004 I tasted last time. It’s still unclear if the 2005 is ever going to be sold. 1,800 bottles produced.
