Information about the Wine

This wine comes from vines planted at 10,000 dense vines in the Climat Les Longerois (38.32 hectares total) in Marsannay. The 1.4 hectares for this wine extend across the middle of the slope and include both the Dessus des Longeroies with its limestone mounds and the Bas des Longeroies with its red marl. After destemming, cool pre-fermentation, and spontaneous fermentation, the wine was slowly aged on its fine lees for 16 months in 228-liter barriques (primarily François Frères) with a new oak content of 20 to 30%.

Nose

Of the three Marsannay vineyards, “Les Longeroies” is the Pinot Noir that needs the most time. Initially, it seems quite lactic and reductive, but then it blossoms in the carafe, revealing distinct notes of wild berries, cherries, and cranberries alongside traces of gunpowder and cassis. Added to this are a hint of cranberry cream, undergrowth, crumbly wood, and a touch of vanilla.

Palate

On the palate, the Pinot Noir is a juicy, pleasantly slightly tart, and cool wine, yet still possesses a touch of extract sweetness and quite fleshy fruit. It is a very young, sophisticated Marsannay, precisely crafted, with agile acidity and ripe, firm, medium-grained tannins. »Les Longeroies« also has a very nice length with piquant notes and a fresh, acidic aftertaste.
