Nose

The 2017 Guix Vermell from Terroir Sense Fronteres presents brilliant red berry fruit on the nose. Grown at 800 meters above sea level in the immediate vicinity of Les Manyes in the neighboring Priorat, it boasts small strawberries, raspberry jelly, and cherries in the cup. Underpinned by mineral vibrations, it is adorned with ethereal, mild spices in the top note.

Palate

On the palate, the nectar made from 100% Grenache presents itself in a fruity bed. Grown on over 50-year-old vines on a high plateau with red clay, its rich fruitiness is perfectly balanced by amphora aging. Whole-bunch fermentation, natural sedimentation, and bottling without filtration result in a wine with an almost Buddhist balance. The ethereal fruit is silkened by caring tannins and carried like a magic carpet by shimmering minerality. It flows gracefully with a cool nature into an epic finish. Only 1,208 bottles!

Limpid ruby. Expressive aromas of black raspberry, cherry compote and candied flowers are enlivened by a smoky mineral topnote. Appealingly sweet and focused on the palate, offering concentrated red and fruit preserve and spicecake flavors that spread out with aeration while maintaining energy. Candied licorice and exotic spice notes reverberate on a very long, youthfully chewy finish framed by polished, steadily building tannins. All whole clusters and raised in clay amphoras.
