Wine Information

This champagne is a single-varietal Blanc de Noirs made from Pinot Noir. The vines come from 55-year-old Sélection Massales vineyards in the Mont Âme plots with chalky soils and Migerats plots with loose clay soils in the Cru Les Mesneux in Ecueil, Montage de Reims. After pressing and spontaneous fermentation, the base wine was aged in 300-liter barrels. No stabilization, filtration, or fining was performed. The wine was bottled and aged sur lattes for five years and disgorged on April 13, 2021. It contains 1 gram of dosage. 1,742 bottles and 30 magnums are available.

Colour

Intense straw yellow with light copper reflections and a relaxed mousse.

Nose

From the outset, the MAM 2015 is an open, elegant, and complex champagne, offering just the right balance of citrus fruit from ripe grapefruit and citrus, as well as red berries and chalkiness. Its aroma is also reminiscent of creamy nougat on slightly warmed brioche. This is more than appetizing, especially since everything seems finely interwoven and exudes nobility.

Palate

This noble character is also evident on the palate, where the fruit appears ripe and juicy, bringing a fine extract sweetness to the champagne, so that it requires no more than 1 gram of dosage. This fruit is sensual, reminiscent of ripe pome and stone fruit, oranges, and lemon sorbet. Here, too, you’ll find a hint of nougat and sweet yeast dough, a red Pinot aspect of raspberries and red nectarines. Added to that is a hint of chalkiness and lime, which isn’t overpowering, but rather integrated into a creamy texture. The champagne is complex yet straightforward on the palate, again very balanced and so inviting that the bottle is emptied faster than you’d expect.
