Beschreibung
Only 15 years ago, the partly ancient vineyards around Madrid and also in Méntrida and the Sierra de Gredos were largely unknown territory. This has changed permanently, not least due to the commitment of the cousins José Jiménez- Landi and Daniel Gómez Jiménez-Landi. Although the Jiménez-Landi family founded the winery in 1963, it has only been run professionally since 2004. At that time, the cousins tended to produce Parker-style wines. Only over time has the style become finer and more Burgundian. Today, José produces red wines of great freshness, finesse, and minerality. Dani Landi left the winery in 2013 to devote himself to other projects. Today, Méntrida is known for producing some of the best Garnachas in the world. You can’t tell by the colour, which sometimes looks more like claret or rosé, but the complexity is inspiring.
