Wine Information

Vindemiatrix is only produced in special years. The name Vindemiatrix refers to the star in the zodiac sign of Virgo. To begin the grape harvest, the Romans waited for its appearance in the sky. Hence the Italian word for grape harvest, “vendemmia,” or “vendange” in French. Serrat de la Plane means “stony plateau” in Catalan, and this is also the name of the location of the two vineyards and the wine produced from these extreme locations, which was made from vines over 100 years old.

Colour

Muted violet red, delicate lightening towards the rim.

Nose

The 2014 Vindemiatrix enchants with wild and honest fruit: blackberries, mulberries, and blackcurrants mingle with rosemary and juniper. The refreshing and delicately cool fruit of wild sage and black olives underlines this wine.
