Wine Information

The largest part of the vineyard area is located in the Pündericher Marienburg site. This vineyard is located on the opposite bank of the river from Pünderich and faces south to southeast. In the original area of the Pündericher Marienburg, directly below the former Marienburg monastery, gray slate dominates. The vineyards were replanted after land consolidation around 1988; they have now reached a good age, and the wines are becoming increasingly structured and mineral. For his Großes Gewächs (Grandes Growths), Clemens Busch uses only healthy, highly ripe grapes.

Sparkling golden yellow with green reflections.

Nose

The 2022 Marienburg Riesling Großes Gewächs (Grandes Growths) smells of green apple, honey, and stimulating floral notes reminiscent of ivy and rose petals. The whole is framed by a spicy, earthy minerality and notes reminiscent of bread crust and pepper.

Palate

On the palate, it presents itself fresh and extremely multifaceted. The complex acidity plays with the tongue, its delicate fruit lends it an incredible charm; each sip pleasantly challenges its taster and calls for the next. At the very beginning of its development, it promises fantastic potential; the patient connoisseur will be rewarded.
