Info

Petit Melange is based on seven grape varieties, dominated by 38% Petit Meslier. The vines are located in Chamery, Vrigny, and Coulommes. Petit Melange is composed of 50% 2020 and reserve wines from 2018 and 2019. Disgorgement in January 2023 at 0g/l dosage. No added sulphur.

Colour

Bright straw yellow with golden reflections, persistent perlage, and short mousse.

Nose

The nose of Petit Melange is variable, wild, and full of facets. Its fruit fluctuates between yellow and red. Peach, green apple, pear, but also raspberry and red currant are present. Abundant chalky nuances underline the fruit. This is fully evident and should define the nose. Oyster shell, fresh seaweed, and plenty of herbs provide it with plenty of freshness. Lemon thyme, lemon balm, mint, and chervil are omnipresent.

Palate

On the palate, it is taut, crisp, and draws inspiration from its terroir. This fine minerality coats the entire mouth, and the tooth feel is perfect and harmonious. The fruit is noticeably brighter and crisper as a result. The apples display tannins, phenolics, and a crisp acidity in combination. The finish is even more distinctive, with a subtle bitter note accompanying it. Aromatically, it drifts into a slightly nutty corner, which, together with the herbal spice, lingers for minutes.
