Information about the Wine

The Alta Alella winery is located in a natural park on the Mediterranean Sea, within sight of Barcelona. A special feature of the Alella region is the “Sauló” granite-sand soil, which gives the wines lively acidity and low pH values. The “Celler de los Aus” is a project within the winery, where winemaker Mireia Pujol-Busquets works entirely without the addition of sulfur. The unfined and unfiltered “AUS Pet Nat Rosé 2023” is made from the Monastrell red wine variety, also known as Mataró in Catalonia. This organically certified Pétillant Naturel has not been disgorged, so tiny yeast particles from the fermentation remain in the bottle.

Nose

The bouquet offers charming red fruit, floral aromas, and a hint of almonds. Above all, the nose is incredibly fresh, balanced, and stimulating.

Palate

The super-fresh and stimulating impression continues seamlessly on the palate. The AUS Pet Nat Rosé 2023 has lively acidity and fine bubbles, and thanks to its very finely knitted tannins, it develops a great grip in the mouth. It presents itself with crisp red fruit, grapefruit, and a light bitterness on the finish, which is incredibly appealing. Overall, this Pétillant Naturel offers plenty of drinkability and personality, and all this at just 11% alcohol.
