Azienda Agricola Valfaccenda was founded in Canale in 2010 by Luca Faccenda and his partner Carolina Roggera. On the steep, sandy hills of the Roero, Luca and Carolina cultivate exclusively the indigenous Nebbiolo and Arneis grape varieties – firmly aware that only natively rooted grape varieties can authentically reflect their origins in the bottle. The two hectares of land they own are located around the winery near Canale, while additional land is leased on the hills of Le Rocche, the symbol of the Roero, as well as in Vezza, Madonna di Loreto in Canale, and San Grato in Santo Stefano. The soils of the Roero consist of sand, which in ancient times formed the seabed of the Gulf of Padania and is sometimes found mixed with clay sediments. In 2014, Luca Faccenda applied for organic certification. The Vindabeive is made from 100% Nebbiolo from the younger vines planted in the soft, sandy soils of the Roero. It has just spent five days on the skins, about half of which as whole bunches, before being bottled for a brief rest period in the cuvée.

Nose

The 2024 Vindabeive from Valfaccenda is bursting with youthful vigor and aromas of sour cherries, cranberries, violets, and bay leaves. The delicate transparency of the fruit and its filigree nature are already evident on the nose, filling the glass with anticipation.

Palate

On the palate, a top-notch super Glou that takes the entire Glou theme to another level. With its delicate carbonation, it practically sparkles on the palate; the minimal extraction ensures a delicate phenolic character that channels the juicy fruit bursts into clear streams. An ultra-rapid drinking flow with an absurdly high refill factor. Serve lightly chilled, of course.
