Wine Information

This single-varietal Syrah comes from the Entrevon plot in Malaucène, located at an altitude of 350 meters on the north side of Mont Ventoux. The rock dates back to the third Miocene period, with sandy soils. The grapes were harvested by hand on September 9, 2020, 90% destemmed, and fermented in a concrete cuvée for twelve days. The wine then aged for eleven months in stainless steel and nine months in the bottle. 1,581 bottles were produced.

Nose

The 2020 Entrevon combines yeasty notes and fruit in a way reminiscent of freshly baked plum cake. With air, which the still-young wine desperately needs, it becomes fleshy and dark fruity with hints of cassis and cherries. Added to this are notes of dark chocolate and black olive tapenade, while the hint of aged beef remains quite present.

Palate

On the palate, the 2020 Entrevon is a balanced and profound Syrah from the Ventoux with an impressive balance of freshness and ripeness. The tannins here already appear fine-pored in parts, but still have a robust side. The acidity is lively, the fruit warm and dark. It is a blend of wild berries, plums and cassis, a few cherries, peat, and violets with a touch of olive tapenade. The overall character appears powerful, yet elegant, juicy, and meaty!
