Product description for Pranzegg Vino Rosso Leggero 2022

The Pranzegg winery is named after the estate where Martin Gojer has been producing his wines since 2009, reflecting their origins, vintages, and the family’s lifestyle. Located above the Bolzano valley basin, Gojer’s vineyards are cultivated biodynamically by hand, and in the cellar, too, less is more: long fermentation and long maturation periods on the full lees with the addition of only small amounts of sulphur characterize the wines, which are always bottled unfined and unfiltered. The Vino Rosso Leggero without a vintage statement (L2022) consists of 90% Vernatsch and 10% Lagrein. The previously contained Merlot portion is omitted, as the vineyards have been re-vinified with Gewürztraminer.

Nose

Martin Gojer’s Vino Rosso Leggero is downright cheeky and unashamedly cherry-fruity on the nose; its joyful bouquet radiates from the bowl into the evening sky like an anti-aircraft searchlight in front of a large disco. Joyful with its cheeky fruitiness, it quickly makes the lips purse towards the bowl and fill the glass well above the measuring mark. Serve chilled is the imperative of this drink, and one that is gladly followed.

Patch

The cheeky fruit promises nothing it cannot deliver and delights the discerning drinker with rich cherry on the palate. Flanked by fine phenolics on the tongue, it is reminiscent of aromatic kitchen herbs such as bay leaves or sage. The ripe acidity acts as a refreshing accelerator for this outstandingly understandable drink, which requires no explanation; you simply have to drink it down. Strikingly high stroke rate guaranteed.
