Wine Information

This elegant cuvée takes its name from the sunny lowlands east of Lake Neusiedl, which, in addition to their excellent microclimate, are characterized by particularly permeable soils. The hand-picked organic grapes for this wine ripened on these soils in traditionally hand-cultivated vineyards.

Colour

Dark violet-red with subtle lightening towards the rim.

Nose

The 2021 Heideboden has an intense and pleasantly tart initial aroma. Aromas of blackberries, elderberries, and sloe combine with dark plum jam. Distinct aromas of green bell pepper, pepper, wood smoke, and leather emphasize its spicy and piquant character. With sufficient oxygen, floral hints of ivy and violet emerge.

Palate

On the palate, it is juicy with refreshing acidity, earthy minerality, and stimulating herbal spice. One thinks of pepper and bread crust on the finish, and it’s a delight to enjoy slightly chilled with hearty and savoury dishes.
