Colour

Light ruby red with light reflections and visible cloudiness.

Nose

As expected, the Cuvée Romanissa is clearly characterized by reduction. Behind this veil lies energetic, precise fruit. Wild raspberries, sour cherries, and sour cherries are clearly evident. The fruit experiences plenty of contrast. Wild, sometimes very rustic aromas emerge. Memories of farm visits in southern Europe come to mind. A hint of goat stable and dried grass from wild herb meadows. Ethereal, animating, but demanding. “Hate it or love it!”

Palate

On the palate, this lightweight from southern France presents itself as fresh, juicy, and taut. With extremely little body, it is stretched out. The tannin underlines it successfully and forms its backbone – without which it would probably fall apart. The acidity is high and expressive. The ethereal nuances dominate the fruit. Pine needles and rosemary are found alongside wild herbs, before currants and raspberries. The fermentation and reduction process together leave the impression of fresh sauerkraut. You have to like it.
