Wine Information

The Toison d’Or is a single-varietal Pinot Gris from Guillaume Sorbe. The fruit comes from plots in Reuilly with vines planted on predominantly clayey-limestone soils, but also on soils with pebbles and red sand. After spontaneous fermentation, the wine was aged for three years, partly in tanks, but mostly in used 400- and 600-liter barrels. Since the 2018 vintage, the Toison d’Or has been declared a Vin de France (Christoph Raffelt).

Colour

Light white gold.

Nose

The aroma shines with finesse and elegance. In addition to apple and pear, there are notes of citrus, lemon verbena, pale flowers, a hint of anise, ginger, and artichoke. Everything is framed by a salty and iodine aroma that transports you mentally to the sea.

Palate

On the tongue, the 2019 Toison d’Or appears delicate and incredibly fine-grained. Its acidity and tannins are perfectly buffered by fruit and delicate juiciness. A truly exceptional and extremely successful interpretation of this grape variety, which is a great pleasure, especially with aromatic cuisine! Enjoy decanted from large glasses; exposure to oxygen will enhance it even further!
