Devil too! Delightfully good. With the comfort of a vibrant, smoky, yet warm-hearted voice and the charisma of Hildegard Knef, the essence of Naked Rosé moves far away from the kitsch of its superficial rosé wine sisters. Fruit-laden, yet free-spirited, and straightforward with almost lascivious curves, the credo is “not to be alone and yet to be free,” under which red roses shall rain down on you… Blaufränkisch is exemplary of the region. The vines for Naked Rosé grow on both mica schist and fossil-rich limestone and sand-limestone soils. After a short maceration period with whole grapes, the wine ferments in large wooden barrels and amphorae. No filtration or anything similar, but also no addition of sulfur.

Colour

Bright pomegranate red with light reflections

Nose

Naked Rosé has a wonderfully restrained aroma. This makes it incredibly interesting, as it doesn’t loudly proclaim what it wants to be: raspberry, strawberry, and red currant. All the fruits are totally subtle and unobtrusive. A touch of sour cherry and plum complements this very well. Wild herbs, dried summer grass, and plenty of vegetal notes are also noticeable. The subtle nature remains! Pea, fennel, and a hint of celery try to stand up to the fruit. Savory, lemon balm, and thyme support it in this.

Palate

The first sip underscores all of this. And yet it’s completely different. It flows easily and quickly. The quiet fruit is countered by a subtle bitterness. This keeps the fruit small, is incredibly stimulating, and a whole range of new aromas cling to it. Hazelnuts, green walnuts, dried thyme, and almost a touch of Mediterranean garrigue characterize the finish. Pine groves, pine needles, and this mix of resin and ethereal needles.
