Product description for Flo Busch L’Odyssée de Flo IGP 2021

Info

L’Odyssée de Flo is based on 60% Syrah and 40% Grenache Noir from Mont Baudile. The Syrah grows on limestone scree, while the Grenache also grows on eroded pebbles and quartz. After the harvest, the wine is left on the skins for approximately 14 days, with regular remontage and pigeage. Only natural yeasts are used. Fermentation is not followed by fining or filtration. The wine is aged for 14 months in used barriques. The total sulphur content is measured at 32 mg/l.

Colour

Dark purple with violet reflections and slight cloudiness.

Nose

The fruit is tightly wrapped here, conveying freshness and coolness despite its southern origins. Sour cherry aromas flow abundantly from the glass. Cassis provides a blend of dark fruit and freshness. Some elderberry, raspberry, and plum play a subordinate role. Lilac and hibiscus can be detected in the background. 2021 l’Odyssée appears silky and elegant. Its wilderness appeal is charming and seductive. Abundant juniper, long pepper, and fennel seed build slowly. Its balsamic spiciness is supported by abundant ethereal accents: pine needles, rosemary, thyme, and sage.

Palate

This interplay of aromas and impressions is seamlessly presented on the palate. Its silky, cool structure stands out. This is encouraged and fortunately sustained by a taut acidity. Its fine tannins also provide a common thread on the palate, having an invigorating effect and are indispensable for the success of every sip. The combination of pure fruit paired with plenty of spice in a Mediterranean context is extremely appealing and lingers on the palate for a long time.
