Clair’s trilogy of high-altitude communal bottlings concludes with the 2022 Vosne-Romanée Les Champs Perdrix, an ample and fleshy wine that offers up aromas of sweet raspberries, raw cocoa and spices. Medium to full-bodied, racy and saline, it concludes with chalky grip that will soften with bottle age.

The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Le Champ Perdrix showed some reduction on the nose, but there seems to be ample, quite floral fruit in situ. The fresh, vibrant palate offers dark cherries mixed with citrus fruit. It is focused and tensile with an energetic finish and a touch of sour cherry on the aftertaste. Very fine.
