Wine Information

Attis is one of the most innovative wineries in the Galician DO Rias Baixas. The bottles of their white wine “Mar” mature for six months at a depth of 12 meters in the Atlantic Ocean, a fact that is evident in each bottle with the shellfish and salt deposits. The wine is made 100% from Albariño, from around 50-year-old vines in the traditional pergola, a training method that is ideal for the humid Atlantic climate of Rias Baixas, as it allows for better aeration of the vineyards. The wine is aged for six months in wooden vats, followed by the aforementioned bottle aging in the Atlantic Ocean at a constant temperature and pressure in complete darkness.

The Mar 2023 has an incredibly attractive and sensual bouquet with fresh apple, pear, and peach aromas. The fruit is by no means overpowering, but blends elegantly with the wine’s stony minerality. Overall, this wine has a nose that is as complex as it is balanced.

Palate

In the mouth, the wine feels extremely clear and precise. The texture is silky and creamy, and the wine develops plenty of mineral grip on the palate and in the long, ultra-fresh finish. Body, acidity, and crisp fruit are wonderfully balanced, with an enormously stimulating salty-mineral undertone. This is a highly refined, truly seductive Albariño, whose elegance and vibrant freshness perfectly reflect its Atlantic origins.
