Nose
The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Ostrea is a firm favorite at Trapet year after year. A prime example of contemporary Pinot Noir. It is generous and approachable. At the same time, it has so much depth that you have to pause for a moment. Its fruit is subtle yet very present. Wild raspberries from the forest and sour cherries are racy and almost weightlessly animating. Plenty of herbs add to the fun factor of the nose. Parsley, rosemary, and chervil deliver one fresh attack after another. It experiences subtle spice in the form of black pepper and juniper. Behind this, still shy, lies its earthy side. Wet limestone and cold smoke are reserved only for patient, searching tasters. Time or air can help.
Palate
It grabs you immediately on the palate and captivates you. Its intense fruit competes with its structured acidity. These two facets attract each other magnetically for minutes. With great elegance, it lives from its silky, clear and mineral appearance. Origin, style and vintage are very well presented here. Its spiciness also comes from the earthy facet of this wine, which radiates outwards in the glass with full depth and length. Perfectly balanced, all the elements come together to form a great whole that knows how to inspire. Taut and lengthy, it takes its time on the finish and inspires again and again – always in a different way. Full of complexity, it drinks enormously well even at its young age. Its potential is far from exhausted. With its generosity, it carves out its own monument.

It has fine clarity on the nose: brambly red fruit, briar and pressed violets unfolding in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip on the entry. It has fine structure, slightly chalky towards the finish, but it should flesh out during the remainder of its élevage._x000D_
