Wine Information

The hand-picked organic Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch grapes for this premium cuvée ripened on prime hillsides on the northern edge of Lake Neusiedl. The Zweigelt comes from the Leithaberg in Jois, the Blaufränkisch from the Ungerberg in Gols.

Vine Information

Manual harvest and selection, spontaneous fermentation in wood, 20 months of aging on the lees in 500-liter wooden barrels.

Colour

Dense garnet red, almost colour-dense to the rim, with violet-black reflections.

Nose

The 2016 Pannobile is a densely fruity, youthful-looking nobleman, as the winery aptly describes the cuvée. Dark morello cherries, blackberries, and plum jam combine with firewood, Mediterranean herbs, licorice, and a hint of green bell pepper. You’ll want to dive right in and immerse yourself in this exquisitely harmonious wine.

Palate

Upon immersion, you’ll encounter plenty of juicy and fresh fruit; the cherry is particularly present and combines with a stimulating acidity, a polished tannin structure, and a stony minerality that lends it grip and finesse despite all its charm. A full-bodied wine, absolutely on point with an invigorating and long finish. Pure drinking pleasure!
