Product description for Matassa Rufo blanc VdF 2023
Colour
Dense golden yellow with light reflections and visible turbidity.
Nose
It starts reductively and restrained. Yet it is always clear and on the earthy-mineral side. Anise, chamomile, and honey form an unusual, yet exciting aromatic composition. Abundant herbs enliven it. Bitter almond and green walnut provide contrast and depth. Quince and tart apple add a delicate fruity note.
Palate
It is simple and approachable. At the same time, it does not lack complexity. It appears juicy despite its moderate acidity. The tannins are crucial for its fresh core and drinkability. It lingers long and distributes salty spice notes. Maggi-like, it combines herbal spice with salt. A truly hearty wine that can certainly handle fat. However, the tannin structure also seems immature and has a tendency towards green.
