About the wine

Even though the name suggests that this wine contains more Pinot Blanc than Auxerrois, it’s actually the other way around: The cuvée consists of around 75% Auxerrois and 25% Pinot Blanc from several plots around Wettolsheim with marly limestone and gravel. The vines are 30 years old.

Colour

Light golden yellow

Nose

The 2022 Pinot Blanc Auxerrois is juicy and fruity on the nose, with notes of crisp, ripe pears and apples. A scent of acacia and linden blossoms, along with a hint of lemon and anise, accompanies the fruit. The wine is appetizingly fresh, slightly spicy, and also stony on the nose, and one certainly expects a hint of tannin on the palate.

Palate

Here, the fully fermented cuvée appears creamy and charming, but in fact, alongside juicy fruit and ripe acidity, it offers a pleasant grip combined with a southern spice. The ripe acidity is balanced by the minerality, giving the Pinot Blanc Auxerrois a pleasantly fresh and lively palate.
