Beschreibung
Château La Nerthe was already known far beyond the borders of France in the 18th century. Since 1985, everything has been done to place it once again among the best Châteauneuf-du-Pape estates. Organic cultivation, which has been certified since 1998, has played and continues to play a significant role in this. The 57 plots of the 92 hectares of vineyards, with the four most important types of soil as well as the 13 grape varieties of the appellation, are vinified and vinified separately. Only then, with admirable intuition, does estate manager Rémi Jean go about composing extraordinarily complex white and red wines with excellent ageing potential. The Clos de Beauvenir and Les Cadettes are the two historic vineyards below the Château. The Clos is reserved for white varieties because of its higher chalk content. The cuvée of the Cadettes is based on the oldest vines of the estate, especially the Grenache Noir vines planted in 1935.
