Info

The Naked Red is a non-vintage. Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch are dominant, with supporting St. Laurent and others. The vines are located both west and east of Lake Neusiedl. On the slopes of the Leithagerbig, they grow primarily on limestone and slate. On the other side, the gravel soils of the Parndorfer Platte and the humus-rich heath soil form the basis. The harvest took place from late August to mid-September. Spontaneous fermentation took place for two weeks in wooden fermentation stands and then in steel tanks on the skins. It was then allowed to mature in the wooden fermentation stands for over a year.

Colour

Dark cherry red with a dark core and a light rim.

Nose

The nose initially appears dark, appealing, and spicy. A hodgepodge of aromas initially reveals cassis, elderberry, blackberry, and sour cherry. The fruit is compact, but never concentrated, rather crisp and refreshing. A hint of licorice permeates, bringing an ethereal freshness into play. The aniseed note is pleasant and varied. This is joined by a subtle spice of juniper and green pepper. Abundant garden herbs envelop it with additional refreshing moments.

Palate

It starts on the palate with pull and grip. It is juicy and silky at the same time. Extremely lean in its appearance and therefore all the more appealing. The fruit clearly shifts towards raspberry and, above all, sour cherry. The spice otherwise decreases significantly on the palate, but the drinking flow and enjoyment factor increase significantly.
