Description
Where else can you find terraced steep vineyards, 80% of which are planted with ancient ungrafted vines? The Ellergrub is such a site. Perhaps less well known than the “Große Lagen” of the Middle Mosel, it has the same potential for great Mosel Rieslings. But the other vineyards around Traben-Trarbach, such as Steffensberg, Gaispfad, or Sonnenlay, also show how diverse and unique the terroir is, as interpreted by Konstantin Weiser and Alexandra Künstler. Organic cultivation, mostly manual work, and traditional but very gentle cellar work are a matter of course. This is how Weiser-Künstler produces very fine, classic, and elegant Rieslings that are among the best in the region. Be it the light, dry estate Rieslings, or the playful, fruity Kabinett and Spätlese wines, or the brilliant, sweet Auslese and Beerenauslese wines. This is Mosel Riesling as we love it, with legendary ripening potential.
