Wine Information

At Weingut am Klotz, the name is strongly connected to its origins. The Isteiner Klotz is a striking mountain ridge based on Jurassic limestone deposits and is geographically located between the southern Black Forest and the Rhine Valley.

Vineyard Information

80% of the wine’s aging and spontaneous fermentation took place in stainless steel and 20% in large used wooden barrels.

Colour/Appearance

Brilliant golden yellow with delicate green reflections.

Nose

The 2022 Kalk & Löss Gutedel captivates the nose with its restrained finesse and elegant fragrance. In addition to pear, quince, citrus, and anise, delicate notes of yeast, almonds, and mussel shells emerge. Its cool and puristic appearance immediately awakens the desire for the first sip.

Palate

Once on the tongue, it perfectly fulfills the expectations of a refreshing, grippy, and stimulating tipple. It flirts with minerality and subtle spice, and, quite wonderfully, with only 11% alcohol by volume. You’ll be happy to have a few more glasses, perfect in combination with fine dishes, even with savoury notes.
