Wine Information

El Gallinero 2022 is a rosé made exclusively from Tempranillo. The grapes come from biodynamic cultivation, and the wine itself is certified organic. The approximately 25-year-old vines grow at an altitude of almost 800 meters in the Golden Mile of Ribera del Duero. For this rosé, the Valdemonjas winery uses the freshest plots, which are exposed to the east, west, and north around the winery. The grapes are pressed directly, and the must has only very brief contact with the skins. The wine is aged exclusively in steel tanks.

Nose

El Gallinero 2022 smells primarily of pure, fresh peach fruit. But this rosé is not only fruity on the nose, but also crisply mineral. The combination creates an incredibly stimulating bouquet.

Palate

This wine also delights the palate, as El Gallinero 2022 is a seductive yet serious rosé. It is very clear, straightforward, and unfussy in its style, with mineral grip, great acidity, elegant tannins, and fine spice. The creamy texture and the fresh, lingering finish add to the wonderful flow. I have yet to taste a better rosé from Ribera del Duero than this one.
