Description
The Vacheron family vineyard was founded at the beginning of the 20th century as a part-time business. Until the 1960s, just 10 % of the 40 hectares were planted with vines. But the domaine has developed into one of the top vineyards in Sancerre. Thanks to first-class sites and biodynamic work certified since 2004, the terroir comes to the fore in an inimitable way in the wines. Freshness, minerality, and complexity are characteristic of the wines from this domain. At Vacheron, the 50-hectare estate is divided into 37 ha of Sauvignon Blanc and 13 ha of Pinot Noir. Jean-Dominique Vacheron is responsible for the white Sancerre, his cousin Jean-Laurent, who worked with Aubert de Villaine in Burgundy and in California with Pinot Noir for several years, is mainly in charge of the Pinot. The focus is increasingly on the differentiation of various single vineyards.
