Product description for Vacheron Sancerre blanc AOC 2023 (bio)
Wine Information
The fruit of Domaine Vacheron’s basic Sancerre comes from all three terroirs that Sancerre has to offer: Silex, Caillottes, and Terres Blanches. The Sauvignon Blanc was spontaneously fermented and aged in stainless steel.
Colour
: Light straw yellow
Nose
In some years, Vacheron’s Sancerre is quite loud, with distinct pyrazine. This year, it is subtle, fine, and elegant, yet still present. All the aromas are ripe yet fresh, reminiscent of lemons, star fruit, and greengage, of blossoms, of rock with a hint of flint. It has a good balance of serious rocky spice and lighthearted cheerfulness.
Palate
On the palate, the Sauvignon Blanc is juicy and fresh, above all clear and precise. The acidity is present but ripe, providing a decent punch. The fruit is in the ripe green and slightly yellow range, but doesn’t play a major role. This time, it’s more about texture, mineral energy, and a mouthwatering saltiness in the long finish. It’s very skillful.
