One of Trapet’s more structured premiers crus this year is the 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Prieur, a medium to full-bodied, deep and textural wine redolent of plums, rose petals, orange zest and licorice. Built around a chassis of powdery tannin, it concludes with an expansive finish.

The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos-Prieur 1er Cru is very pure on the nose with black cherries and wild strawberry fruit, the 50% whole bunches deftly assimilated. Very tender aromatically. The palate is medium-bodied with a sapid entry. It has a sweet core of black fruit but is not cloying, the acidity driving along with superb tension and poise towards the finish. A superb Clos Prieur. _x000D_
