Product description for Trapet Alsace Chapelle 1441 rouge 2020 (bio)
Wine Information
The 2021 Chapelle 1441 is named after a restored chapel in the center of Riquewihr and is produced from five different plots. One of these is located on the limestone soils of the Grand Cru Froehn, planted in the 1960s; three other plots are located around Riquewihr.
Colour
Medium ruby red with medium transparency
Nose
This is a finely spicy, lively Pinot Noir that combines crisp red and dark berry fruit with notes of rock, pepper, and undergrowth. It has a very pleasingly down-to-earth feel while maintaining a successful degree of finesse.
Palate
This impression continues on the palate. The Chapelle 1441 presents itself as crisp, fresh, spicy, and piquant. It seems as if a good dose of ripe black horse is at play here. You can chew the wine; you get a mouthful of wine with plenty of juice and a tannin that gives the Pinot Noir a successful structure. It’s not overly complex, but certainly sophisticated, yet above all enjoyable to drink, with a lively acidity determined by the limestone.
