Wine Information
The 2017 Zweigelt comes from loamy limestone marl soils and, after spontaneous fermentation, was aged for 6 years in wooden barrels. It was bottled unfiltered.
Colour
The wine is a deep garnet red with distinct violet reflections.
Nose
A delight on the nose: dark, sweet berries from blackberry and elderberry to blueberry, dark cherries and plums. A magnificent floral fragrance reminiscent of elderberry, boxwood, blackcurrant leaf and ivy. Distinct aromas of dark earth, wood smoke, cocoa and leather give it depth and underline its complex and multi-layered character.
Palate
On the palate, the wine shines with juiciness, beautiful fruit sweetness and the finest, polished tannins with mineral notes. The refreshing acidity emphasizes its invigorating and playful character. The low alcohol content of 12.5% vol further enhances its stimulating drinking flow. A Zweigelt of perfect drinking maturity, it delights with fine and aromatic cuisine.
