Wine Information

This single-varietal Grenache Rouge comes from the Bois Long plot, located at an altitude of 300 meters in the Dentelles de Montmirail. The rock dates back to the Middle Triassic. The vineyard is surrounded by olive trees, thyme, rosemary, and curry plants. The grapes were harvested by hand on September 11, 2020, were not destemmed, and fermented in a concrete cuvée. The wine then aged for eleven months in enamel tanks and nine months in the bottle.

Colour

Slightly transparent garnet red with a brightening rim.

Nose

The 2020 Bois Long has aromas of ripe sweet cherries, cassis, raspberry brandy, and warm yeast plaited bread. The sensually warm and sweet notes, accompanied by a hint of licorice, are accompanied by a touch of dry wood and grated stone.

Palate

On the palate, the Grenache is round and silky, warm and full with powdery and coating tannins, with cherry, cassis, and Fromboise spirits, fragrant herbs, and warm spices. Despite the fullness, Philippe Gimel ensures precision. The wine gains clarity through a fine acid structure and lively minerality.
