Description
Peter Fischer’s dream of country life took him to the USA at a young age and then to the University of California at Davis. As a newly qualified oenologist, he found a job in Provence in 1984, and he discovered Château Revelette a year later. North of Aix-en-Provence, in the shelter of the Montagne Saint-Victoire, his current 30 hectares of vineyards lie between 330 and 400 metres above sea level amidst extensive forests. Organic since 1998, and now also biodynamically cultivated, Peter grows eleven grape varieties. Harvested with precise ripeness and vinified without additives (except for a small quantity of sulphur), he is a master of differentiation and ageing. The Château wines show the AOP with freshness and finesse. The PUR series without added sulphur brings Ugni Blanc and Grenache Noir vibrantly into the glass. Grand Blanc and Grand Rouge, two fascinating cuvées, are among the most outstanding wines of Provence with high ageing potential.
