Description
Rémi Jobard is the nephew of the famous winemaking brothers Charles Jobard and François Jobard. When Rémi joined the winery in the mid-1990s, the move away from all herbicides and pesticides began. Rémi Jobard is a proven white-wine winemaker with the best sites in Meursault, which is why his two Pinot Noir sites also carry a comparable cachet. The Premier Cru sites in Monthélie and Volnay are comparatively high and therefore fit Jobard’s portfolio with their rather cool expression. Over the last few years, Jobard has increasingly relied on a combination of barrels and tonneaux from Stockinger. The clear renunciation of reductive popcorn and banger aromas, the restrained use of wood, which accordingly gives the Meursaults a fine but not intrusive hazelnut aroma, leads to finesse and brilliance at Jobard.
