Description
Product description for Pranzegg “GT” Vino Bianco 2022
The Pranzegg winery is named after the estate where Martin Gojer has been producing his wines since 2009, reflecting their origins, the vintage, and the family’s lifestyle. Located above the Bolzano valley basin, Gojer’s vineyards are cultivated biodynamically by hand, and in the cellar, too, less is more: long fermentation and long maturation periods on the full lees with the addition of only small amounts of sulfur characterize the wines, which are always bottled unfined and unfiltered. Pranzegg’s GT, made from 100% Gewürztraminer, comes from two steep vineyards in Signat and Unterplatten, located at a good 500 meters above sea level. It was harvested early and trodden under foot before resting on the skins for five days without temperature control. Fermented spontaneously with a portion of the vine’s vines, it rested for six months in used chestnut barrels before being placed in concrete until the following October.
Color
Apricot with light orange, satin-matte reflections.
Nose
The nose of the 2022 GT from Pranzegg immediately captivates: orange blossoms, orange zest, mandarins, and small apricots organize its joyful fruit display without overly overly overly expressive. With increasing aeration, the spice components of this GT follow, reminiscent of white pepper with its cedary notes of vetiver, mace, allspice, and chestnut honey. The wine appears generous and expansive, welcoming you with open arms.
Palate
On the palate, it plays the entire citrus keyboard like Lionel Hampton plays his xylophone: orange blossoms and zest, green mandarins and kumquats, as well as apricots and dried quince, kick off the wine, underscored by spicy beats of light tobacco, white pepper, and black cardamom. Its delicate phenols lend it the necessary touch of freshness in the overtone range, and the notoriously low acidity acts as a stable subwoofer. This wine caters to a wide audience and offers 1001 possibilities at the table, even without Munster, cheese, and crayfish.
