Origin

This is the estate wine from Clos del Portal, which combines all of the vineyards. Grenache predominates, followed by Carignan and Syrah. All of the vines are between 20 and 65 years old. The younger vines come from a mass selection of the older ones. The vines are located at an altitude of 450 to 500 meters and are all rooted in black Llicorella slate in combination with various other components. The harvest took place between the second week of September and the second week of October. After destemming, fermentation took place spontaneously in wood and stainless steel, and the different batches were aged for 15 months in foudres and French barrels.

Colour

Bright, slightly transparent ruby red

Nose

The Negre de Negres is significantly less dark in colour and also significantly less influenced by the wood than before. It has adapted to the spirit of the times, yet remains a slightly smoky, earthy, and dark berry wine with lovely spice and rock notes. Its aroma is pleasantly precise and clear.

Palate

This clarity and precision continues on the palate. The wine is ripe and juicy but not overly concentrated, yet agile with clear spice and licorice notes and a touch of pepper, meaty notes, some meat extract, dark fruit, and a pleasantly rustic tannin.
