Rebholz’s Siebeldinger 2019 Im Sonnenschein Spätburgunder GG, released after the 2020 last year, opens with a bright, fresh, cool and floral nose of ripe, finely concentrated (cherry) fruit. It has something cool but also very ripe about it, along with notes of a sharpened pencil. Powerful, dense and elegant on the palate, this is a sustainably juicy, concentrated, chalky and salty Pinot without any weight or sweetness. It is an impressive 2019 that can be slowly savored. Tasted at the Vorpremiere VDP.Grosses Gewächs in Wiesbaden in August 2024.

The 2019 Spätburgunder Siebeldinger Im Sonnenschein Grosses Gewächs is the current release after resting in bottle for three years. A tender aromatic lift carries a touch of Amarena cherry. The palate has creaminess and absolute density of velvety tannins that have beautifully melded into the fresh, seductively smooth red cherry fruit. This is not a shy wine but a compelling and enticing one, deeply and lastingly aromatic. Gorgeous. (Bone-dry)
