Description
The Nikolaihof looks back on almost 2000 years of history, making it the oldest winery in Austria. However, it is not only the history and the wonderful Wachau itself that are responsible for the special atmosphere at the Nikolaihof, but above all the Saahs family, who have been farming the estate since 1894. As a founding member of the Demeter Association of Austria, the Saahs family has been working biodynamically for decades. The vineyards are bursting with life. This is how they produce Federspiele with tension and backbone, paired with finesse and structure. The Smaragd wines from the Nikolaihof enjoy incredible vitality even after decades of ageing and storage: Veltliners and Rieslings with elegance and mineral depth. Some special wines are stored on their lees in large barrels for up to 20 years before they are bottled.
