We know Michael Andres from his collaboration with the Andres and Mugler sparkling wine houses. He founded his own winery in 1993. The business was based on the vineyards of his parents’ cooperative, which were gradually planted with Burgundy varieties alongside the existing Riesling. Not everything goes into sparkling wine production! In addition to sparkling wine, Michael Andres produces outstanding wines that reflect the special terroir of the Mittelhaardt region. He cultivates plots in prime locations, such as Reiterpfad, Herrgottsacker, and Mäushöhle. In this location, he owns one of the few remaining terraced vineyards in the Palatinate. High above Deidesheim, directly on the edge of the Haardt with stunning views of the Rhine plain. One of the most exciting locations in the Mittelhaardt region.
