Wine Information

“Graupert” means “wild, uncombed” in the Burgenland dialect, like the vineyard where it grows completely unpruned and in the wild. The wine was fermented for an extended period on the skins, vinified in a purist manner, and bottled unfiltered.

Color

What a color! Salmon pink, with orange reflections and silvery highlights towards the rim.

Nose

The nose of Graupert is difficult to define; this exciting wine, thankfully, doesn’t fit into any category. Its aromas are incredibly complex and constantly evolving. Aromas of juicy apples, pink grapefruit, passion fruit, rhubarb, and fragrant blossoms seem almost floating. The fruity impression is accompanied by herbal notes and a hint of vanilla, as well as delicate nuances reminiscent of cassis leaf, forest honey, and fresh ginger. It appears pure and clean, immediately awakening the desire to taste it and savour it for a while.

On the palate, it is as pure as the nose, with juicy fruit. Its acidity is invigorating, and the fine tannins lend it complexity. The salty, umami touch makes it so stimulating yet focused that you’ll want to enjoy pairing it with a variety of dishes. Decanting it lets it win!
