Description
Matthias Planchon comes from a family in which viticulture has been practised since 1573. His father made a decisive contribution to the founding of the Sancerre cooperative. Matthias, however, wanted to go his own way and, after stops in Sancerre, Vouvray, Tours, and Burgundy, has been building up his own winery since 2012, while in parallel he has been taking care of his family’s vineyards since the age of 16. In 2014, he started the organic certification process and turned to biodynamics in 2018. After building a cellar, he produced his first vintage in 2019. The wines speak a very clear language and show a lot of character. Even though Planchon is still young, they are certainly already among the most precise and elegant wines of the appellation. They are touching wines of great depth and seriousness but that also shine brightly.
