Product description for Matassa Planals Rouge VdF 2023
Colour
A delicate, rusty rosehip red with a light rim.
Nose
This one smells wonderfully of rosehip and sour cherry. The fruits seem wild and small, so that thoughts of wild berries also arise. So far from concentrated. Hay with wild herbs and flowers. The full Mediterranean keyboard is played: garrigue and lavender. Pine groves and almond blossom. Rosemary and thyme. Wild and ethereal. Delicate roasted aromas and cold smoke stand in the background alongside chopped almonds.
Palate
This definitely makes you drool. It animates shyly from the background. With great finesse and lightness, it remains true to itself. It is robust and compact. Its acidity does not seem forced and is well integrated. Stylistically, the wines are extremely lean and thus lose some of their fruit expression. Wild and masculine in the aftertaste.
