Wine Information

The organically and biodynamically produced Muscat d’Alexandrie grapes from old vines produce a yield of only 18 hectoliters per hectare. After hand-harvesting, fermentation on the skins took place for 35 days. After pressing and malolactic fermentation, the wine matured for eleven months in neutral 500-liter oak barrels before being bottled unfiltered and unsulfured.

Color

Lightly coppery with some cloudiness.

Nose

The Cuvée Alexandria, named after the Muscat d’Alexandrie used, smells of elderberry and acacia blossoms, nutmeg and roses, but also of ripe cider apples, a touch of classic hops, herbal tea, and a slightly creamy note of peach compote with cream.

Palate

On the palate, the Cuvée Alexandria presents itself juicy with fine fruit that alternates between ripe stone fruit, some pome fruit, and orange. The slightly extended maceration time ensures a subtle tannin and extract that blends harmoniously. The wine appears complex and yet floating, precise and clear, delicate and also quite elegant in the fine composition of the tannins and the acid structure.
